What our Patients Say
I have been a patient of Mr Mark Cahill and his staff at Progressive Vision for approximately ten years. I am in my eighties and suffer from macular degeneration in both eyes, wet AMD in my right eye and dry AMD in my left eye. Due to my failing eyesight I require an injection in my right eye approximately every months to maintain normal vision. I have two reviews annually to ensure the treatment is working properly and my eyesight is not deteriorating. I have always found the Progressive Vision team very friendly and approachable, all questions are answered clearly. I am very impressed by the efficiency of the team, the advanced technology and I can recommend Progressive Vision for their overall approach.
Carmen Oroz FunesMr. Cahill carried out successful cataract removal on both eyes in Jun.’21 and Sept.’21. In March ’23 while in Spain I needed emergency surgery for a tear in my retina. I got wonderful support over the phone from Progressive Vision. My total experience with Progressive Vision has been superb particularly as I am a very nervous patient in medical settings !
Andrew FlynnAlthough its early days after my Valeda treatment for dry AMD, there is more brightness in my vision. I am now able to read numbers on the calendar and on my ipad more clearly, although I read slowly. Previously the writing was blurred so I am very happy with the result.
Caitriona DonnellyFollowing my OptiLight treatments, my dry eye symptoms have really eased. Eyedrops were just masking the problem. My eyes are clear now- not red, gritty or streaming water. I’m delighted with the treatment- it was quick and painless and staff were very kind, especially Eve and Hannah.
Niamh CrosbieWhile reading the newspaper a few weeks after my Valeda treatment for dry AMD, I thought my right eye, my bad eye felt very comfortable- it had been scratchy and very irritated. The other eye has eased also. I am very happy with the treatment and the staff at the clinic are so kind.
Maire CurtinI recently had cataracts removed from both eyes under the leadership of surgeon, Mark Cahill. I experienced a consistently high standard of professionalism and pastoral care. It is commonplace to speak of ‘modern miracles’, but that is what this particular medical intervention feels like to me, as it restored the ‘forty shades of green’ that my eyes had simply stopped registering.
Celia G KennyAbsolutely consummate professionals, friendly and courteous from the first experience at the front desk, through surgery and to the final review. Kind considerate team that ensure you are fully briefed and totally at ease. Great experience and unbelievable results. Thank you.
Adrian O'DwyerMy treatment regime for macular degeneration has meant eye injections given by Dr Mark Cahill every seven weeks for almost two years now. Thankfully I don’t find it too difficult and my sight is back to normal a few hours after my injection. The staff at the Progressive Vision clinic are exceptionally kind and caring with all their patients. I would like to especially thank Justyna and Ciara.
Pat ShirranI have been a patient since 2012 when I was diagnosed with a rare retinal disease. Because Mr Mark Cahill diagnosed it so early, I was able to start treatment very quickly and this has saved my sight in both eyes. I am so grateful to Mark and all the team at Progressive Vision for the excellent medical care and attention I receive on each visit. There is no cure but the amazing support from Progressive Vision has made living with this disease much easier.
Orla DI am so happy to have my cataract operation done at Progressive Vision. The whole process went very smoothly with no pain. My vision has greatly improved. I cannot thank the team enough- I only need to wear my +2 reading glasses now!
Angela LennonI’ve been attending Progressive Vision for over seven years- my optician referred me with macular degeneration. Mark Cahill’s kindness and care is second to none. He has a lovely personality, I can ask him anything and talk to him about any issues I have. The clinic is wonderful- I have complete confidence in my eye care.
Dorothy CoghlanOver eleven years ago I was referred to Dr Mark Cahill as a result of being diagnosed with diabetes and related vision problems. Thanks to Mark and his team I am doing very well with treatments every five or six weeks at the clinic.
Denis KaneI am very happy with my treatment at Progressive Vision. It is a lovely place, staff are very friendly, helpful and the results are good. I have glaucoma but great treatment means it hasn’t interfered with my life.
Niamh BrophyI saw my sister go blind with macular degeneration- she now has a white stick which prompted me to get my eyes checked. Macular degeneration started in my left eye, then moved to the right eye. I’ve been getting injections every 6-8 weeks in one eye at a time so I can keep driving and living my life. Dr Mark and his team are very kind and very patient.
Oliver McDonnellMark, thank you for being so patient with such a nervous person. Your staff are very kind. I want to praise especially Louise, Sadhbh and Alison. They are exceptional, and thanks also to kind Ciara who was so reassuring.
Jenny DunneGreat specialists, they make you feel at ease and explain everything logically and in detail so you leave the place confident you’re in good hands. Katie was lovely to me, I’m grateful for the care. It may not be important for everyone, but the place is also beautiful, modern and spotless.
